Doors Do Open

Have you ever felt like you have exhausted all of your options and you can’t seem to find a way out?  Or you know that there is more that can be out of a case you are on?
I can’t imagine what the widow whose husband left some debts for her to pay before he died must have gone through.

Wait, you think all that happened is all there is. In the sense, you have pressed all your buttons and made all your moves. Knocked all the doors you know and made the calls. You now think its over. You think there’s no way out again? Be there!
You seem to have forgotten so quick that God is the one that makes things happen. Look at the widow whose husband left her in debt. She was broke. No money no possession my sons up for sale kindof broke.
Her two sons were going to be taken captive to pay for the debts that was on ground. Of course she was devastated. She had no possession to sell to get some money. The only thing she knew to do was to go meet Elisha who her husband served with.
I imagine she had exhausted all of her options before going to the Elisha. She would not want to embarrass her husband and herself so she must have done some underground asking from people close enough to borrow her until she can pay so that she could pay off her husbands’ debtors. Alas all of them doors were shut against her.
I can’t imagine what was in her head when she told the prophet about the pathetic condition on ground.
She had most definitely known that the prophet had no money to give her. But in the middle of her despair, he brings up an idea by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
The God we serve is one that makes things happen even in the bleakest of times and situations. Now she could pay up for her debt from just a small pot of oil that she had.

Elisha said to her- 2Kings4:3..Go, borrow not a few. 4. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her and she poured out….

Some huge opening right there.
The oil that she poured wasn’t just enough for her to pay off her debt but for her to live in peace with her two sons. How amazing? Even when she thought all doors had been shut against her, God had a beautiful door awaiting her. How awesome God is. Our God is one who opens beautiful doors. This kind of door is ‘the Big door shaming them other doors’
Times will come when you feel like you have exhausted the best of your options or all them doors are shut against you, but God always has a big door awaiting you.
You just may not be able to grasp it all now or even see the ways that God seems to be making. But things will sure fall in place as you trust God through whatsoever it is you are going through at the moment.

Do have a lovely week ahead.

Grace.

    1. God would speak to us through people sometimes. He also placed his spirit in us to guide us as well. He would that we recognise his when he's speaking to us and everytime we obey that voice or walk in his steps, we'll find solution to the problems of life.

Thankfulness

Life can get so boring, especially when you are fixed in a routine, and you're just at that point where all you want to do is break out. I mean, try out something out of the norm, like eat a different kind of food,or have a break from your stressful work,or simply get to see and relate with a whole new set of people. This was somewhat the case with the Israelites in Num11:31-35. Numbers 11:31-35- 31  Now a  wind went out from the  Lord , and it brought quail from the sea and left  them  fluttering near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground.  32  And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten  homers); and they spread  them  out for themselves all around the camp.  33  But while the  meat  was  still between ...

God's Speakings.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: – Genesis 26:2 Isaac was one of those bible characters that had a life patterned after the voice of God. He was about to leave where he was resident for another country because of the famine they were experiencing in the country where he resided. However, his plan was interrupted by God's voice. I'm intrigued by the fact that God specifically said He will tell him where to dwell. This challenges me because I've had this desire and still desire to have that "hearing relationship" with God. I see this and believe God wants all His loved children to actually have that kind of relationship with Him. God wants to tell everyone of His sons and daughters something, however, not everyone is going to hear Him because not everyone has trained themselves to do so. All the time, for all situations in our lives, the Lord is willing to tell us something. The questio...
