THAT I MAY KNOW HIM 2: Jesus, the Possibilitarian

Last week, we started a study on Philippians 3:10  "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. We looked at Jesus as the "author" and "finisher" of our faith. That he who has started a thing in us is well able to bring it to past, and so we should rest in Him. This day, we see the person of Jesus from a story in the bible. Matt17:24 When they had come to Capernaum, those who received the temple tax came to Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?” 25He said, “Yes.”And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” 26Peter said to Him, “From strangers.”Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.  27Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have

THAT I MAY KNOW HIM 1: Author and Finisher

Philippians 3:10  "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;" This prayer was made by Apostle Paul and is a very deep one. We will focus on the first part of it- "that I may know Him" Jesus is a lot of things to a lot of people. Some know him on theory basis, while some have experienced his workings in their lives. Today, I will share about Jesus as the "author" and "finisher". Hebrews 12:2a New King James Version 2 " looking unto Jesus, the author and [b]finisher of our faith, " Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. As one justified by God, the Lord says we should live by faith. meaning, taking steps based on what the written or the spoken word of God says. Now, when a believer takes steps in line with the word, things may not fall immediately in line as one would expect, and often times, because we are humans, we may begin to bother

Treasures

Isiah45:3 {NLT} And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness—     secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.  The word of God makes us to know that the earth, the world, as a whole is covered with darkness, according to Isaiah 60:2a - " See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, "  This automatically means that before anyone was born at all, the earth swam in darkness and so by default, we live in a world that is dark. But scripture says that light shines in darkness and darkness can't comprehend it. Jesus is this Light that shines in darkness. If you do not have Jesus in your life, I urge you to ask Him in now to be your Lord and Savior. The anchor scripture for today let's us into an important matter, that there are treasures hidden in this dark world, that only God can reveal to an individual. Now, this doesn't have to be some 22 karate gold piece, No!

ENGRAVENED

I’ve just come here to remind you,  that the Lord has your  face at the very palm of his hand, right in front of him.     Isiah 49:16 (NIV) ‘see I have engraven you on the palm of my hands, your walls are ever before me.’   Ah, when somebody says your walls are ever before me, this means they see all your extensions, everything that you are. More like, those parts of you that are really private(good and bad). those parts of you that you’d rather no one comes to mess up so that your peace can be very intact, those parts of you that you are just really seeking to understand. Those parts of you that you are really seeking meaning for. Those parts of you that you are unclear what the Father is saying. Those parts of you that you really can’t articulate into words. Those things you really need or desire that is just out of your reach for some reason or the other. Those hidden thoughts and desires. This wall thing just appears to me like a literal wall that is a compartment of
