Lesson 6: Know yourself; be yourself

There is more to knowing yourself than just knowing your name. There is a saying that you cannot be effective without been authentic.  To go through life excellently, its important to know oneself.

How do I mean?
Things work very differently for people, which is because God has made each one of us uniquely. For some people, its so easy to read up 10 pages of a book in about 30 minutes while some others will take up to 60,90 or even 120 minutes.  Personally I realize how much of time i needed to spend on certain things before i can come out with something more than average or just good.

Knowing where you stand as a person in your relationships, in how you handle issues, in how to even take care of you is very important . This is because its a baseline for your improvement or growth.

I had to get to that point where I eliminated certain things from my schedule just to focus on doing some other things better. The more you function from the standpoint of an understanding of yourself, the easier it is for you a to approach life.

Over and again I have had to learn always to be sincere to myself :) That's the only way you can get the best out of life!!

Being yourself is a product of knowing yourself. This part may be a struggle especially when you are in the same environment as you used to be. But here's where a fight for yourself comes in because, truth is where ever you go,you will have to prove yourself by been yourself. lol. It's like transitioning to a new normal. Its especially hard if you have lived all your life being something or someone else i.e not exactly knowing yourself. There will always be a pull towards who you used to be.

There's a comfort and ease that comes from understanding how your person works! When you know it well enough,it will speak louder than even your words. Self checks help you to maintain who you are as you grow.
:)

Doors Do Open

Have you ever felt like you have exhausted all of your options and you can’t seem to find a way out?  Or you know that there is more that can be out of a case you are on? I can’t imagine what the widow whose husband left some debts for her to pay before he died must have gone through. Wait, you think all that happened is all there is. In the sense, you have pressed all your buttons and made all your moves. Knocked all the doors you know and made the calls. You now think its over. You think there’s no way out again? Be there! You seem to have forgotten so quick that God is the one that makes things happen. Look at the widow whose husband left her in debt. She was broke. No money no possession my sons up for sale kindof broke. Her two sons were going to be taken captive to pay for the debts that was on ground. Of course she was devastated. She had no possession to sell to get some money. The only thing she knew to do was to go meet Elisha who her husband served with. ...

Thankfulness

Life can get so boring, especially when you are fixed in a routine, and you're just at that point where all you want to do is break out. I mean, try out something out of the norm, like eat a different kind of food,or have a break from your stressful work,or simply get to see and relate with a whole new set of people. This was somewhat the case with the Israelites in Num11:31-35. Numbers 11:31-35- 31  Now a  wind went out from the  Lord , and it brought quail from the sea and left  them  fluttering near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground.  32  And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten  homers); and they spread  them  out for themselves all around the camp.  33  But while the  meat  was  still between ...

God's Speakings.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: – Genesis 26:2 Isaac was one of those bible characters that had a life patterned after the voice of God. He was about to leave where he was resident for another country because of the famine they were experiencing in the country where he resided. However, his plan was interrupted by God's voice. I'm intrigued by the fact that God specifically said He will tell him where to dwell. This challenges me because I've had this desire and still desire to have that "hearing relationship" with God. I see this and believe God wants all His loved children to actually have that kind of relationship with Him. God wants to tell everyone of His sons and daughters something, however, not everyone is going to hear Him because not everyone has trained themselves to do so. All the time, for all situations in our lives, the Lord is willing to tell us something. The questio...
