Life can get so boring, especially when you are fixed in a routine, and you're just at that point where all you want to do is break out. I mean, try out something out of the norm, like eat a different kind of food,or have a break from your stressful work,or simply get to see and relate with a whole new set of people.
This was somewhat the case with the Israelites in Num11:31-35.
Numbers 11:31-35-31 Now a wind went out from the Lord, and it brought quail from the sea and left them fluttering near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground. 32 And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers); and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp. 33 But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was aroused against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague. 34 So he called the name of that place [j]Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving..
God had provided them with a whole lot of quail,so much it took them more than 24hrs to gather. Only that some of them saw it to be borren. Vs 34 says they had a different craving, and this in itself displeased God.
Today, I want to encourage you,to be thankful. For where and what you are in the moment. Be thankful
For what you have and what you don't,be thankful.
For who you know and who you're yet to know,be thankful.
For the places you have accessed and the places you are yet to access,be thankful.
For the years you have spent and the ones you are yet to spend,be thankful.
For the lessons you have learnt, and the ones you'll still learn,be thankful.
For everything,be full of thanks.
Apparently,it fills one and makes one satisfied.
You can choose to be full of thanks and be satisfied or be dissatisfied because of your cravings for 'other things'.
Knowing fully well that, faithful is He (God) that made you and faithful He will be to the end.
Peace be with you,
Dr. Grace!
