The Blessings of KINDNESS

I find it an absolute delight to discover things in the scripture and share. It's such a beautiful thing for me.

The just shall live by faith is what scripture says, and our faith walk is to be guided by the word of God.

Today, I'll be sharing something I found in the bible steers God on our behalf.

Here it is:

Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Psalms 41:1-‬3 NLT

Certain things stood out in this passage, and they are :

1. "kind to the poor"

2. "The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble."

3. "The Lord protects them.

4. "and keeps them alive."

5. "He gives them prosperity in the land"

6. "and rescues them from their enemies."

7. "The Lord nurses them when they are sick"

8. " and restores them to health."

1. "kind to the poor"

According to Cambridge Dictionary: Kind means

generous, helpful, and thinking about other people's feelings.

According to the free dictionary, to be kind is having  or  showing  a friendly,  generous, sympathetic, or warm-hearted nature.

The poor is anyone around who is low, poor, weak, or helpless.

So, being kind to the poor is to be generous, helpful to those who are low, weak or helpless.

In a world where many persons have abused the kindness of well- meaning people, it has been an increasing concern for a lot of people to extend a helping hand to those who are poor. Such that many people turn a blind eyes to the needs of the needy. However, this does not nullify the importance of being helpful to the poor. And I believer that this is still valid in this day and time because God’s word is timeless. Scriptures say that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth(John 16:13), and this includes the truly weak and lowly persons to show kindness to. Those who legit need help.

Also, the spirit of God can guide in the way or manner to show kindness to different people as he's really the only one that knows the deeps things of peoples lives.

There are 7 blessings attached to being committed to kindness to the poor.

1. The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.- Deliverance

2. The Lord protects them.- Protection

3. The Lord keeps them alive.- Preservation

4. The Lord them prosperity in the land- Prosperity

5. The Lord rescues them from their enemies.- Defence

6. The Lord nurses them when they are sick- Care

7. The Lord restores them to health.- Restoration

God was teaching the children of Israel to be kind and considerate when he spoke in Deut. 24:19-21:

19 When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. 20 When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow. 21 When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.

I will end with this scripture:

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Colossians 3:12

It takes the grace of God to be kind on Gods' terms, ask for this grace today.

God bless you.

Love & Peace!

Doors Do Open

Have you ever felt like you have exhausted all of your options and you can’t seem to find a way out?  Or you know that there is more that can be out of a case you are on? I can’t imagine what the widow whose husband left some debts for her to pay before he died must have gone through. Wait, you think all that happened is all there is. In the sense, you have pressed all your buttons and made all your moves. Knocked all the doors you know and made the calls. You now think its over. You think there’s no way out again? Be there! You seem to have forgotten so quick that God is the one that makes things happen. Look at the widow whose husband left her in debt. She was broke. No money no possession my sons up for sale kindof broke. Her two sons were going to be taken captive to pay for the debts that was on ground. Of course she was devastated. She had no possession to sell to get some money. The only thing she knew to do was to go meet Elisha who her husband served with. ...

Thankfulness

Life can get so boring, especially when you are fixed in a routine, and you're just at that point where all you want to do is break out. I mean, try out something out of the norm, like eat a different kind of food,or have a break from your stressful work,or simply get to see and relate with a whole new set of people. This was somewhat the case with the Israelites in Num11:31-35. Numbers 11:31-35- 31  Now a  wind went out from the  Lord , and it brought quail from the sea and left  them  fluttering near the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and about a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the ground.  32  And the people stayed up all that day, all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten  homers); and they spread  them  out for themselves all around the camp.  33  But while the  meat  was  still between ...

God's Speakings.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: – Genesis 26:2 Isaac was one of those bible characters that had a life patterned after the voice of God. He was about to leave where he was resident for another country because of the famine they were experiencing in the country where he resided. However, his plan was interrupted by God's voice. I'm intrigued by the fact that God specifically said He will tell him where to dwell. This challenges me because I've had this desire and still desire to have that "hearing relationship" with God. I see this and believe God wants all His loved children to actually have that kind of relationship with Him. God wants to tell everyone of His sons and daughters something, however, not everyone is going to hear Him because not everyone has trained themselves to do so. All the time, for all situations in our lives, the Lord is willing to tell us something. The questio...
